I guess I''m the last twig on my particular branch of the Wilder family tree the only child of an only child who married late in life. My father was Nobie Alton Wilder. His father was John Truman Wilder (moved from southwest Wisconsin Viola, I think to southwest Arkansas in late 1890''s. Horatio and Lockesburg, Arkansas.) I married, divorced, eventually resumed my maiden name. I have only one child, an adult son. I remember that one of my grandfather''s sisters, named Della or Dela, went on to California. We received Christmas cards from her for many years. Another relative or 2 went further south to Shreveport, I think. Grace Wilder Yarbrough not sure of her degree of kinship to my grandfather spent the rest of her long life in DeQueen, Arkansas. I wish I had paid better attention, and written things down when I was a child! Several years ago, before my mother passed away, we were contacted by Rosella Wilder Hall. She lived in Wisconsin, and told us about a

500th Celebration of Wilder Family in England
Dear Jim: Just wondering if you are one of the group who went to England back in 1997. I have a Jim on my list. I''m a Wilder by marriage, and have been doing research on our family for many years. My daughter Lynne and I convinced my youngest son, to donate his DNA to Family Tree DNA. We turned up matches to Justin Wilder and Frederick Wilder, both descendents from the Thomas line. Kay

Wilders in Cleveland, Ohio
Hi! I, also, have much info on the Wilders. I have a letter Mrs. Moon wrote to my mother some years ago suggesting Almanzo Wilder - husband to Laura Ingalls is also on the family line from Thomas. I also have a copy, though it is crumbling, of the Rev. Moses Hale Wilder book. I don''t have a copy of the Edwin Wilder sequel? My grandmother was Jennie E. Wilder, daughter of David George Wilder and Alma Hoadley Hickox. David George''s father was also David George of Verona, NY, son of Abel Wilder and Asenath Smith Wilder. I have pictures of Abel and Ascenath if anyone is interested. There are letters of interest at the Western REserve Historical Society in Cleveland, Ohio. Some are in the Dean Smith Papers. (No, not related to the UNC Basketball Coach - I now live in Durham, NC) Alexander, brother to Abel Wilder is a very interesting character. Try his name on the internet sometime. He died around 1908. If this is any help, or if anyone has more stories, I''d love to hea

My Grandfather Edward Wilder
My mother Dorothy Sylvania Wilder was born about 1912 in Canada. She was born on the family Land Grant (Western Land Grants) in Alberta. Her father''s name was Edward Wilder and her mother''s name was Iva Pearl Wilder, maiden name was Cornelison. I was told by relatives, when I was in high school, the grant was received for settling the boarder dispute between Canada and the United States. From what I understand they also were very involved in the Oregon Territory, they owned land there as well. One of my uncles from Oregon told me that my mother was a direct descendant of the original wagon master of the Oregon Trail. When I burried my mother in Oregon, the cemetery people told me the the next cemetery, within sight, also my relatives and is a historical landmark. I am 69 years old , sad to say just getting interested in the family history. Both the Wilder and Cornelison families have Western Land Grants. I am wondering if perhaps my Grandfather Edward was related to yo
