Wilder Cousin
I am also an amateur genealogist with links to the Wilder, Cook, McJunkin, Avery, Reynolds and Tylers. I believe that my passion for researching this stems from my childhood. When I was a young girl (11 or so) , my parents took me to Hingham as my father was searching for any trace of Jabez. Imagine our delight and amazement when we found the the house that Jabez built in 1680. There are not words to justify the feeling of pride and awe I felt looking upon that house and knowing that I was related to the man that built it I am a descendant of the Wilder clan beginning with Nicholas Wilder b) 1464 in Shiplake. Persis Wilder would be my 6th GG Grandmother.

I shall be in Northampton, MA for the whole month of October and would be delighted to meet a cousin or two. If you wish, please email me before September 29th to make further arrangements. Nice to meet you...LOL

Hi Jim, I was wondering if any of the Wilders you have are from North Carolina? My grandmother was married to a George Wilder years ago. He died and she married Eugene Parrish. This George Wilder lived in Franklin County, North Carolina.Thank you, Susan Parrish Fate

wilder dna test
My husband''s mother was a Wilder. Her father was Edward Tucker Wilder, her grandfather was Thomas Edward Wilder of Elmhurst, Illinois. T E''s home (now property of the Elmhurst Park District) was named Lancaster Lodge in memory of his place of origin, Lancaster, Massachusetts. We have no historical information about the family, but links are strongly circumstantial that we are connected to the family you are researching. Thomas Edward and his wife Annie had many sons and one daughter. We don''t remember all their names but they include, Phelps, Harold, Harris, Paul, and of course Edward. Would a dna test from my husband or our sons provide information that you might be particularly interested in? I don''t know that he is too keen on doing it to prove his relationship to the family, as that seems highly likely, but if it would be helpful to your research, that could be interesting. Thank you, Ginny Emery

Very informative website
I was really excited to see this website. I am also new at reasearching my family history. I have been working at it for only 3 years. My name is Jennifer (Goffe) Hicks. My mother''s grandparents are George Washington Wilder (1865-1941) and Louise Willey of Michigan. George is the son of John Wilder (1820-1872) and Leantha Seabring of Michigan. John is the son of Danforth Wilder (1798-1844) and Dolly Rice. Danforth is the son of John Wilder (1773-????) and Sarah Moore of Mass. John is the son of Stephen Wilder (1747-1820) and Betsy Sawyer of Mass. Stephen is the son of Jotham Wilder (1710-1801) and Pheobe Wheeler. Jotham is the son of Thomas Wilder (1676-1758) and Susannah Hunt of Mass. Thomas is the son of John Wilder (1646-1681) and Hannah Atherton of Charlestown, Mass. John is the son of Thomas Wilder (1618-1667) and Hannah Eames of Shiplake, England. Thomas is the son of Thomas Wilder (1584-1634) and Martha Higgs of Shiplake, England. Thomas is the son of John Wild

Wonderful site!!!
You and I need to get together (phone/email)!!! I am one of two family genealogists (amatuer for sure) working in my father''s family ... Cecil Lee Wilder. My aunt, Mrs. Betty West (nee Wilder), us what we (the Wilder''s in Washington State) call our ''main'' genealogist and familoy historian. Betty reaching her 77th birthday and recently had hip replacement surgery. While visiting her in rehab, she told me that I was going to inherit ALL the work she has done and would become the ''keeper of the lines''. She has done an enormuos amount of work and I''m just coming up to speed on studying it. Our line also is traced back to Nicholas. Matter of fact, my sister Sharol Crandall (nee Wilder), and her husband Ron, have also been to Sulham. We''ve even had the pleasure of having Ms. Moon visit us here along with one of her daughters. Sharol also attended the 500th year re of the Wilder famly in England. Well, enough for now. Contact me at the email address given or you can call

Iris Moon
I was at your web site and thought you might be able to forward this email to Iris Moon. My mother was a Bilbrough and I am researching the Bilbroughs of Morley and Gildersome. I know that Ms Moon''s mother was a Bilbrough of that same line. I am in possession of several hundred letters addressed to her Grandfather and great Grandparents as well as Wills and other documents. In these, she may be interested. Thank you Chuck Soderlund bilbrough1@mac.com

Wilder narrative - Edward line to Washburn Maine and beyond
Thank you for the great site. I have written a "narrative" for my children to simplify the Edward line to my husband Cal. Jim - I would like to send you a copy to see if you can use any of the info we have stumbled upon. Could we have your e-mail? For any cousins visiting the northeast - there is a museum in Washburn, Maine (near Presque Isle) in the house that once belonged to Cal''s g -uncle Benjamin who was the brother of Cal''s g -grandfather Robert Waterman. At one time Cal''s Dad lived in the "museum". This is a little treasure that any Wilder Cousin would enjoy. Also a walk through the cemetery next to the Aroostook River makes you feel close to the family. Don''t miss the stained glass windows in the little Baptist Church (across from Wilder St.) that are dedicated to Wilders. They were great potato farmers after they moved over from the coast (Perry and Pembroke) as part of the first pioneers to the Salmon Brook Plantation (now Washburn). The family came to Perry fro

searching
Hi- I am a Wilder (maiden name) and we have been searching for my great gpa. He disappeared when my gpa was very young. He is a complete mystery to us and haven''t been able to find anything about him. I was wondering, if in your studies about the Wilders, if you came across a Roy Lee Wilder born in MO in around 1895? Someone called him Ted Wilder. I know he was married to Ethel Homer and the father of Roy Lee Wilder (my gpa) also born in MO in 1925. Please let me know if you can shed some light on this mystery for me. Thanks, Jacqui
