Re: Genealogy of Pembroke Families
Hi Jim, I am very new to genealogy and am interested in trying to obtain a copy of a book/manuscript called "Genealogy of Pembroke Familes" written by Sydney and Gerald Wilder. I believe it has some of my family in it. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much. Nancy Nancy James-Dombrowski

Paul D. Bevins 4/30/2009 11:24:39 PM

Col. Wilder Bevins
He was from Lancaster Co., PA. and died about 1824. I'm trying to find out how he got his name Wilder, I surmise that it was given to him by his father in honner of his wife's surname but only guessing as I don't even know what the names of Col Wilder Bevins parents Names were. What I'm looking for is the names of Col. Wilder Bevins children If you or anyone on your cousins list has any information on this person I would greatly appreciate it if they would share it with me. If Joseph Bevins is one of his children I have a big protion of this line documentation and would be willing to share information with them. You have a wonderful site and I enjoyed reading and espicialy looking at the pictures. But a word of worning be carful, I had a site a few yours ago that I was proud of because of the hard work, research, stories and picturies I had put together. Untill I started finding big portions of it appearing on Ancestry.com posted by other people and stating that the material

WOW
My immediate family is not very close. I knew that my grand father and great grandfather were from the upper new york state area around elmira and horseheads. I went there when I was very young but don't remember much. My grandfather was a engineer that worked for Savin Brothers when they were in the road contruction business. His name was Leon, he had a brother both worked for the same company. But my fathers name was Burl Alan Wilder and I was looking though your photos and the 4th jpeg shows a picture of a number of family members in hingman mass. Which I had heard the name before. But in the picture is a Burl A. Wilder who I think was my great grand father or Great Great Grand Father whose I know my dad was named after. WOW I would like to know some more. I could not make out the picture well so I would like to get a copy of the book if possible....there were a couple of other first names I seem to remember hearing while I was growing up...like I said I have very little fa

Wilders
Hi Jim, I have very much enjoyed looking at the Wilder cousins website. I loved looking at the photos and reading all the information and seeing how your branch of the tree has developed over the years. AND loved the link with Napolean, which brings me even closer to you guys. My link to the Wilders is through my husband, whilst on my fathers side is the rumour/family legend, as yet to be proved, that my great grandmothers 2nd cousin was none other than Josephine. I am finding that line hard to trace past my great grandmother herself at the moment, a project to be worked on, and proof of how small a world it is. Thank you for sharing your site with me, you have done a great job with this site. Regards, Carol Carol
